Stories about San Diego's favorite "haunts" abound. The Whaley House in Old Town is one place that routinely receives press for the vibes its ghosts send out to visitors who come by the thousands.
But another place in which I have personal testimony is the Hotel del Coronado on Coronado Island San Diego. With a really huge family that includes many relatives I have never met, the story goes that my folks visited a Christiani relative who worked at the Hotel del for many years. This relative swore that there were ghosts at the hotel, though I didn't obtain his first-hand accounts about the hauntings, sadly enough.
I had the pleasure of attending a wedding with the bride & groom renting out the Presidential Suite for their reception and overnight stay. It was a very warm feeling place, and included many original items such as a pool table and elegant wood bar.
So that's the only ghost story I can impart. I was going to book a room at the hotel, but the rate currently is around $365/night...too rich for this pauper. If the travel business was doing better, I'd put my money a place that is tried and true on the island...Loews Coronado Bay Resort...it doesn't have ghosts, but it has feng shui.
